Day 40 – 366 / February 9th 2015

Guess what? I’m back to taking pictures of my beloved Bradford City for use in the “365” Project.

This image was taken at the very end of the players pre-match warm up routines before this evenings match against MK Dons at Valley Parade.

The players shown are (from left to right) Filip Morais, Billy Clarke, James Hanson, Mark Yeates, Jon Stead, Andy Halliday, Billy Knott and Alan Sheehan.

MK Dons, a team unloved by the vast majority of football fans, had the chance to go top of the table by winning tonight; City had dropped to ninth after conceding a late penalty equaliser in a 2-2 draw at Port Vale on Saturday. The away team took the lead after 54 minutes through Dele Alli – a midfielder who they sold last week to Spurs for £5,000,000 only for Spurs to loan him straight back MK Dons.

Thankfully we got back on level terms within minutes when Billy Clarke equalised on 56. Then, the magnificent Jon Stead, worked wonders down on the right hand touch line before feeding the ball to James Hanson. Our big number 9 showed great pace (he’s not renowned for his pace!) before sliding the ball under the advancing MK Dons goalkeeper and into the net. 2-1 to City!

We are a resilient team and, despite several games at Valley Parade this season where we’ve conceded late equalisers, and winning goals, to the visitors, we held on for a well deserved victory.

And, with the three points the win brings, we move back up to sixth and into the promotion play-off places.
