Day 39 – 365 / February 8th 2015
These are the Cat Steps. They lead from the bottom of the valley just outside Brighouse up to the Hove Edge area. There are 120 of them. I know because, as we climbed them today whilst walking the mutts, I counted them.
They are very old, made from great big pieces of natural Yorkshire stone, and as such are a variety of different widths, depths and heights. They are also a little treacherous to climb. Thankfully our walk today was in fine, dry and wonderfully sunny conditions and neither I nor Sarah slipped to our doom.
The mutts were scampering up them with ease. But, then, they enjoy the luxury of having four wheel drive.
