You can just see the front of my van in today’s picture. We were on a combined “shopping/site visit” mission at a newly built and opened supermarket in our town. One of my clients owns the mill that you can see in the background and has asked me to come up with a design and…

Day 09/365 (2018)
One of the bookshelves in our home. This one contains a number of biographies of musicians i like and my iPods. Mr Lennon and Mr Springsteen side by side, not a shabby pairing. As Bruce eloquently remarked “tramps like us, baby we were born to run”.
Day 08/365 (2018)
An early morning shot a heavy frost of the bonnet of my van. The sun had yet to warm the vehicle and I took the chance to snap today’s picture.
Day 07/365 (2018)
My wife has been unwell today and spent most of this afternoon asleep in bed. Consequently I popped the fire on and set myself on the sofa to watch the NFL playoff games. This is the little electric fire blazing away and keeping me warm while Sarah was tucked safely in bed recuperating.
Day 06/365 (2018)
I spent a short time today working on the “mock up” for my book cover. After downloading the images I’d previously chosen from iStock, I dropped these into my artwork. This is a shot of my Mac and the design in InDesign.
Day 05/365 (2018)
My pint of choice is Guinness; it has been for many years and, with the occasional exception or if the bar doesn’t have it on tap, you can be confident it’s what I’ll order. An early finish today – we’ll, not even a start, really, as I had a non-work engagement first thing – saw…
Day 04/365 (2018)
For many people the formative days of any new year are often concerned primarily with organising, sometimes reorganising, and in planning for the twelve months ahead. With this in mind, last week I ordered a new diary insert and stocks of paper for my trusty, some may say “old fashioned”, Filofax. Today they arrived and…
Day 03/365 (2018)
Suffering from a wee bit of a bad back these past few days, I was laid on the floor to alleviate the discomfort whilst I worked on giving my blog site a much needed tidy up and facelift. After popping to the kitchen for a few minutes I returned to discover Elphie the Mini Schnauzer…
Day 02/365 (2018)
Taken from my bedroom window, this striking sunrise over a Brighouse slowly emerging from the dark of night seemed an apt picture to snap for the first day back at work after the festive break.
Day 01/365 (2018)
A few years back, on January 1st 2015, I undertook my “365 Project” – to take one picture each day for the whole of that year and, once completed, print the images in a small album for posterity. I snapped the pictures on my iPhone and found the project was enjoyable to do. Some days…
Day 365 – 365
Day 365 – 365 / December 31st 2015 Sarah and I were invited to spend New Year’s Eve with Bethany and Liam and his mum, Karen, at The Venue in Barkisland, Halifax. Liam was DJ’ing at the celebrations and, as it was something a little unusual (for S and I, anyway) we decided to attend. It…
Day 364 – 365
Day 364 – 365 / December 30th 2015 It is far too warm for December The milder, warmer, wet air has bought flooding and misery to many parts of northern England this Christmas time and, in my own garden, the spring bulbs are appearing well ahead of schedule. My tin bantam is standing guard over them.
Day 363 – 365
Day 363 – 365 / December 29th 2015 Today’s picture is of the rear of my driving licence – I’m not showing the front as the info could be used to impersonate me. And, do you really want two of me out there? Roaming the towns and lurking in the hedgerows? No, you don’t. Anyway, this…
Day 362 – 365
Day 362 – 365 / December 28th 2015 My desk diary for 2016 is this terrific “Rupert Bear” beauty, gifted to me by my sister in law and her, Dog Botherer, husband. I strongly suspect that she is responsible for choosing this as a gift for me, and not her husband, as I doubt a Huddersfield…
