Day 46/365 (2018)

More embellishments on Sarah’s denim jacket ahead of Country 2 Country. This is a “Stars and Stripes” affect across the shoulders.

Day 45/365 (2018)

Just before Christmas, I re-subscribed to Writing Magazine. Today a parcel arrived containing some nice goodies for subscribing.

Day 44/365 (2018)

I was in my workshop today making the seat lid for Bethany and Liam’s hall storage unit. This little devil was advancing towards me as I worked. You can see the menace in his eyes. PS. I dislike ladybirds (ladybugs) immensely. The stench of a horde of them is vile. Trust me.

Day 43/365 (2018)

A quick snap of the (very) light covering of snow which we awoke to and as seen from our bedroom window this morning.

Day 42/365 (2018)

This is the result of working all day today and Saturday at Bethany and Liam’s. They asked me to build a hall storage and seating unit at their house. The space was very awkward to work with – skirting boards, beading and cut outs for the bannister – but, after one or two sweary moments…

Day 41/365 (2018)

Unexpected  post today. A signed picture of Dom Poleon ,a striker at Bradford City. I sponsor part of his kit and I assume this is to do with that deal. Oddly it comes on a day when City play at home yet I decided last week not to attend. Instead I will spend the day…

Day 40/365 (2018)

A simple image today. I have been making some stripes for a client to put onto a vehicle they have repaired. This stripe has been cut from orange vinyl and I have added the blue keyline so that it is all one piece for the client to easily use.

Day 39/365 (2018)

Today I treated myself to some new set squares and an angled saw measure/cutting guide. You can never have enough tape measures or tools for marking accurate lines and cuts. It probably sounds lame but I am looking forward to using these ASAP.

Day 38/365 (2018)

We are going to a music festival soon and Sarah wanted to add some “bling” to her denim jacket. So we bought some spingley-spangley rhinestones, I designed some artwork, and we are in the process of upscaling a piece of simple blue denim. I’ll add images of the finished jacket as soon as it is…

Day 37/365 (2018)

This is the gate I’m making; it’s all screwed together using Kreg pocket holes joints and Kreg’s 2.5″ Blue Kote screws. I’ve given all edges a coat of exterior wood paint before putting it together so that every surface is protected. It’s been filled and sanded and is awaiting a final coat of filler, another…

Day 36/365 (2018)

I am making a new gate for my parents. It is their Christmas present and these are my timbers laid out as I experiment with differing combinations for the vertical pieces. The timbers are 47mm x 100mm (sides and horizontal pieces) and 47×75 for the verticals. The overall size is 900×900 and the gate will…

Day 35/365 (2018)

It’s the evening of Super Bowl LII and Maggie The Mini Schnauzer is having a pre-game snooze on my shoulder. Maggie and I are rooting for Tom Brady and the New England Patriots as they line up against the Philadelphia Eagles. My support for the Patriots harks back to my cousins in Massachusetts who are…

Day 34/365 (2018)

Not an exciting image today. This is the area at the bottom of the stairs at my daughters house and in which I have been tasked with building a combined seat and storage unit.

Day 33/365 (2018)

A shot of the timber I bought today and which I will use to make a gate for my parents. They are overseeing me from the photograph top left.
